Stephen was 18 years old when The Broom Street Children Project’s outreach workers met him living on the streets of Accra in August 2003. Stephen’s mother is dead and his father was unable to look after him due to ill health.
His ambition was to become a car mechanic. We found him a placement and paid for the cost of his training.
Stephen has now graduated as a fully trained and qualified car mechanic. After his graduation, we bought him a set of tools needed to start his own business, and found him a place from where to work in his hometown.
